Issue no. 18: The Last I Loved
“The Last I Loved” works both as a fragment and as a subject, with strong notes of grief and nostalgia, whatever grief and nostalgia may bring. How many ways can we read into this theme?
Right now, we’re looking for playlists for funerals, imagined conversations written as fictional interviews, and letters to past selves, whether these past selves come in the form of lost friends (after all, don’t our friends reflect some part of us?), lost lovers, or literally lost selves.
If this sounds too melodramatic, we can always blame the weather.
We welcome essays, annotated mixtapes, galleries with long-ass captions, even incomplete pitches: send these to NEWSLANGTEAM [at] gmail [dot] com with “The Last I Loved” as your subject heading.

I’d like to participate and submit something for this issue but can’t figure out how–where’s the button or page at? I’m in Pittsburgh PA at rcat32 [at] gmail [dot] com Thanks.

It is, but as you can see we’ve been out of commission for quite some time and it’s only now that I realized I cut out the email address which is usually up on top. Shoot us an email at newslangteam [at] gmail [dot] com if you’re still interested
